In addition to the online learning below, we will begin ZOOM instruction on Monday, April 20. 7th Grade ELA will meet on Monday & Wednesday at 12:00 P.M. See our Google Classroom for more ZOOM meeting information!!
As I’m sure you have heard via Robocalls/news/social media, etc., student grades are being figured based on the average of the first 3 nine-weeks. However, ALL students are being offered bonus point opportunities to improve grade if needed. For ELA, we will be using IREADY lessons. There will be 4 assignments. These assignments will be posted on Monday of each week- April 20, April 27, May 4, May11. All bonus assignments must be completed by May 15th for evaluation. The assignments will be graded using a rubric that was created by the school board and used across the entire district. I-Ready log-in information is below!
Reading and English Class
Dear Parents and Students,
I cannot express enough how much I miss all of you. Since we don’t know the exact date we will go back to school, the parish has given us more resources to use in your online learning. While students will not receive grades on these assignments and are not required to do them, it is very beneficial for students to continue to invest in their education. As a parent and teacher, I have my own children completing their school assignments daily from their teachers. I don’t want my children to fall behind in their learning when they have come so far. I know for some families this is the last thing on your minds because this has been such a devastating time. I understand that as well. You are in my thoughts and prayers. If you are able, this is the information you will need to move forward. All ELA teachers are switching to use iReady ELA just like students use in their math classes. Their assignments will be updated each week. The lessons will only take about an hour to complete. Teachers have been trained on the software and are excited about all that it has to offer. Students will be able to track their progress and see actual percentage points.
The sign in information is the same that you use for math.
