Pep Squad – Colonelettes
Grades – 6th, 7th, & 8th

1. There will be a PARENT MEETING ON MONDAY, MAY 6TH AT 5:30 IN GOOD HOPE GYM.
2. Complete the information sheet, permission letter, and make a copy of your insurance card (front/back) and return to GHMS or your school office by FRIDAY, MAY 16, 2024. Your daughter MUST be insured.
3. The cost for Pep Squad this year is $300. The first payment of $100 is to be paid online before fittings on May 5th at goodhopemiddle.opsb.net > Payments > Pep Squad. The second payment of $50 is due ON JUNE 15TH. The third payment of $50 is due the JULY 15TH. The last payment of $100 is due by CAMP IN AUGUST. This includes the uniform, poms, bag, bow, shipping costs, coaches fees, snacks for practice, water for games, pep rally supplies, Teacher Appreciation, Christmas Party, and any unforeseen expenses for pep squad.
4. Attend the fitting on MONDAY, MAY 5TH from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the GHMS lobby/gym area. On this day you will be sized for your uniform. Sizing will be done on a come and go basis. You are not required to be present the whole time!
5. Camp is scheduled for AUGUST 9TH (SATURDAY) from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. We will learn cheers, chants, and dances that will be performed during football and basketball season. (Check Pep Squad page on goodhopemiddle.opsb.net > Clubs and Organizations > Pep Squad for dates).

6. Each girl will be required to have a physical done before camp.
7. Football games are played on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday nights. Attendance is mandatory for all members. Football season begins late August and will last until the end of October. A parent must be present at all games.
8. Basketball season is also mandatory. Basketball season runs from November through February. A parent must be present at all games.
9. Weekly practices are mandatory and will be held after school from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. A calendar will be provided each month.
10. Parents are expected to provide timely transportation. “Early is on time, and on time is late.” Girls not picked up on time will receive 1 demerit for every 15 minutes that their ride is late.
11. All members must participate in our T-shirt fundraiser. The profits from the fundraiser will supplement the cost of uniforms/jackets, provide for camp expenses, snacks on practice/game days, Christmas party, bus transportation if needed, choreographer fees, coach/sponsor expenses, teacher appreciation, pep rally expenses, etc.
12. GRADES COME FIRST. You must maintain an overall 2.5 GPA each nine weeks for the 2024-2025 school year. If your GPA requirement is not met, a probation period in which you will not perform, but must be in attendance, will be assigned until the 4.5 week progress reports are issued. If the 2.5 GPA is not met - you will be dismissed from the team.
*Any girls wishing to try-out for drill team and/or cheerleader in the 7th or 8th grade will be required to be a member of the pep squad.*
