Colin Herbet Scholarship

Colin Herbet was kind, considerate, a hard worker and a caring individual both in the classroom and on the athletic field. He always strived to do his best and be his best at whatever he was attempting to accomplish. Please watch the video below to fully understand how exceptional Colin was as a young man.

Each year, the faculty is asked to nominate 8^th grade students based on the characteristics Colin exhibited in his short time here at Good Hope, characteristics which go far above those of normal school awards processes. Those students are then asked to write an essay which are judged by an outside group of educators and the top scores are selected to go through an interview process with a panel of judges from the faculty and Colin’s family. This interview consists of questions about school, home, family, community and church involvement, and other extra-curricular activities the students participate in. The winner of the Colin Herbet Scholarship will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship upon their completion of their education at West Monroe High School.
