Triple Ribbon Cutting Event at West Monroe High School
Posted on 09/25/2017
Ouachita Parish School Board, West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, and West Monroe High School co-hosted a triple ribbon cutting event to celebrate the opening of three new facilities on the campus. Attendees traveled the campus first celebrating the Vocational Technical Center which houses the school's vocational programs such as welding and small engines. Next, business, education, and community members made their way to Don Shows Field to acknowledge the opening of Rebel Stadium boasting a larger seating area for home team fans as well as state-of-the-art press and broadcasting rooms. Finally, the group landed at the Edgewood Facility Multipurpose Building, formerly Edgewood Baptist Church. The newly renovated space houses dance-line and other athletic teams, as well as an event/meeting venue complete with kitchen.

Principal Ainsworth expressed the pride and sincere gratitude of the staff and faculty of West Monroe High. He acknowledged the hard work of the architects and construction crews in making the spaces ready for the 2017-18 school year. Along with Superintendent Don Coker and Board President Jerry Hicks, Mr. Ainsworth gave heartfelt thanks to the community and west-side voters for their unending support of Ouachita Parish Schools.

Congratulations to West Monroe High for the three beautiful spaces!
